They mistreated her and she grew stronger.
I know i am really slow. When all the craze and hoo-has about this show is over, i start to go gaga over it and embrace it dearly. All thanks to Mio Tv, which i didn't even know exists at home. Maybe watching it for free is not a good news afterall. My ass has been glued to the sofa from 930am till now (1115pm) and i'm sure my ass will not be spared for the entire night.
Mum: Which episode are we at now?
Little Bro: erm... 15?
Mum: How many episodes are there?
Little Bro: 34
Mum: Ok, we will finish it tonight (confident look)
Hel: HUHHHH. OMG.
Anyway, after 14 hours of intense Little Nyonya marathon, thou shall be enlightened.
1) Mediacorp finally produced something worth appreciating after a long while. The usual 7 or 9 shows are just too mediocre and shoddy.
2) Always prepare a huge box of soft tissue and hug it tightly when watching this show. You don't even know why you have tear ducts to begin with.
3) I'm impressed by the local casts for this show. No need for big shots to back it up. They are really just self-sufficient. Well. No doubt the ill-fated characters managed to activate my tear glands for once. I am more captivated by the fucking assholes in the show. They make me cringe whenever they appear. And thats when i know they've really succeeded :)
4) Plots like this never fails to capture viewers. never fails to climb up the castle of fame. never fails to be relative to numerous awards. No doubt Little Nyonya is just another epitome of brave young lady who never succumbs to fate, it is still well liked by many. Similar storylines like My Fair Princess (China Production) and Da Chang Jin (Korean Production) share many common traits. Lengendary beauty. She is ill-fated yet strong-willed. She receives countless beatings and tortues yet she never dies. She meets prince charming of a higher social status. He falls for her but eventually everyone knows they will never end up together. The culture and delicacies added sweet flavours to the show too. and don't forget to play around with filial piety and lust :)
5) I realise that emotions get unbalanced and psychopathic while watching this show. You get so involved that you feel every single emotions that swings. So when someone is incompetent in maneuvering the remote control to move on to the next episode, everyone gets frustrated and tempers start flaring. Totally not healthy.
6) I kept binging on chips and new year goodies sleeping on the table. It's really got nothing to do with self-discipline at all. its just normal human movement that you start munching while couching at the sofa. and i can feel my waist line growing rapidly as if its in a competition with bacteria .
My eyes are really sore now. not from crying but from staring at the screen for 14 freaking hours. and the olivia ong song is ringing in my head as if she's chanting some curse into me. and i hate my discovery of Mio Tv.
